Often,
the simple way is the better way. If you suspect that there are serious
barriers to performance in your organization, you could launch a lengthy survey
to test your thesis. But, training needs assessment services do not need to be complicated. In fact, in many instances, a clear cut, short survey will give
you the information you need to set up a plan for targeted improvement.
You
don’t need to use any more than 15 statements.
Just use 5 ratings: Never (0%), Rarely (25%), Some (50%), Frequently
(75%) and Always (100%). Then let your target
audience score themselves. Provide a rating chart that groups scores to
pinpoint areas for improvement.
With
the right behavior- and outcome-based questions, you will be able to determine
what areas, in general, need more attention.
Examples of behavior-based questions for sales include:
- How often do clients … ask you to engage EARLY in their planning and decision cycle?
- How often do key client contacts …reveal how they're personally MEASURED?
- How often do prospects… share their BUDGET to you?
Analyze the scores and create remedial programs to address the communications skills gaps.
